Igraine The Brave

Igraine The Brave Igraine The Brave by Cornelia Funke

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Igraine lives with her parents and brother (all magicians) in a small castle. She has no interest in being a magician - she wants to be a knight. Great book for both girls and boys. This book is by Cornelia Funke - one of my favorite authors. What's great about Ms. Funke, in addition to her wonderful stories, is that she has written for all levels of readers. Check her out!

Artemis Fowl

Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl, #1) Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Twelve year old Artemis Fowl is trying to get his family's millions back. Sounds like a noble cause, but he will do it any way possible; even if it is illegal. Guys will like this book! This book is first in the series of six.

Magic Thief - Lost

The Magic Thief: Lost (Magic Thief) The Magic Thief: Lost by Sarah Prineas

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A wonderful follow up to the first book in the series. Conn - as usual - does not listen to Nevery. This time it costs him. Because he no longer has his locus magicalicus, the only way he can talk to magic is through explosions. Explosions are outlawed in Welmet and after one goes horribly wrong, Conn is exiled. However, he is able to help Welmet against black magic during his journey from home. I can't wait for the conclusion of this trilogy
