Bonnie lives at Willoughby Chase with her mother and father. Sylvia, Bonnie's poor cousin comes to live at the manor. Mr. and Mrs. Willoughby go on a trip and leave a distant cousin in charge. This cousin tries to steal the estate from the Willoughbys while they are away, treating the girls like prisoners.
